Why does a condition like constipation give 'SOOO' much trouble?
Constipation is a medical condition that can affect us all. Nutrition is the link to a healthy bowel. The pace we move at is creating a situation that we fit our bowel movements into our 'schedule' instead of allowing the body to work naturally. We tend to hold on 'until the end of that meeting'. Bowel problems could result if you continue.
What is it?
Once food has passed through the digestive tract and ends up in the colon as body waste, excess liquid is re-absorbed back into the body creating a solid mass that is pushed along by muscle movement. If the waste moves slowly, too much water is re-absorbed causing the waste to be hard and difficult to pass through as stool. You now have constipation.
What does a well produced stool look like?
Interesting subject, scientists have been studying stool and the contents of the digesive tract for years on all sorts of creatures. Even those that are centuaries old. A fresh good stool should be soft and fully formed, leaving little residue when deposited. It should partially float in the water and does not have an excessive smell. All this is achieved through a healthy diet with adequate fibre.
