Food content - when did it disappear??

Consuming real food content from natural sources was what our bodies were designed to eat since hunter and gatherer times, rich in essential trace elements and nutritients. The ripe food tasted good, full of minerals, vitamins, and possessed a full bodied sweetness. Today our bodies have not evolved enough to deal with forced, under-ripe or processed foods.

Food content - bursting with goodness. What happened??

Food grown on depleted soils or contain chemical fertilizers, produce harvested under-ripe, to minimalize damage in transportation, increasing shelf life, its all there. Many do not contain the same amount of trace elements that were once present.

Scientists, especially those associated with the food and pharmaceutical industries will dispute this. But then try and read their full research papers to establish what the parameters of the research was. Having said this, epidemic trends of diet related illness is causing a big shift. Hopefully to your advantage. But its not new, traditional people have known it for years, we just have to prove the value of good food in todays standards.

The world pharmaceutical industry has had years to provide cures but instead we are still suffering a tidal wave of ill health. Epidemic proportions are seen in obesity, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, the list is long. I don't need to prove this, just read the local papers. Lets face it, our lifestyles have changed, toxins are all around, our basic food has been demoted. We are eating foods that have diminished essential fatty acids, trace elements and antioxidants. These are fundamental as it is the only fuel source we have, allowing repair and optimum performance without the use of drugs.

Crops are grown with the assistance of nitrogen based fertilizers, and are now prone to more symptoms as nitrogen fertilizers cause the plant to grow sappy tissue with thinner walls. Thus the plant is not as rigid as before, but the fertilizer companies (pharmaceutical industry) have a spray to compensate the side effect. We eat this produce either directly, but mostly through processed foods or indirectly through livestock it has been fed to. Many livestock groups bred for meat are routinely fed a range of antibiotics to ensure a healthy appearance. Lets face it, livestock bred in this way does not have a long life expectancy but have to look good.

We have to change the way we do things and eating copious amounts of raw foods to get enough of the nutrients required may be a hard way to achieve good health. A cost effective natural nutritional supplement taken each day to feed at cellular level may be a more efficient way of achieving that good health.
